Art trends 2024

I was researching what trends might be getting big in the art industry this year.

Many people say that sustainable art will become a big thing as well as Equitable art, the classic of landscapes is also expected to become a trend this year as well as very colourful art.

And I found myself believing they will become a hit this year as well.

Sustainable Art

Artwork in this category are a practice of making artwork that are not harmful to the environment. The art also addresses the problems in the environment such as climate change, waste in the ocean (or generelly the waste that is produced by humans) and social issues.

Now, why do I think that this genre will increase or become a trend this year. It's probably already on your mind. With the mind a lot of people have adapted it is only normal for sustainable art to become a hit. Let's say you make a artpiece with recycled paper and environmental-friendly products. If you say that about your art and it shows the critical view of the world and it's use of the environment - I'm sure that the piece will sell faster. And because it's a thing in the everyday life of all of us, it is sure to become more attention.

Landscape Art

Art in this category is exactly what you think it is. The art depicts the natural scenery such as mountains, valleys, forests, rivers and beaches.

You can see a work of art in this category in almost all art galleries or museums. This trend comes back every few years and it seems like this year it might be one of those years. I believe that due to the critical mindset of a lot of people, that a lot more people will start to see the beauty in nature and therefore will be more willing to buy a piece from an artist.

Equitable Art

The art in this category is a proportionate ownership that an individual may claim against a physical representation of art.

With the big movement surrounding the gender equality, the art is most likely to take a stride towards it as well. The prescence already started to grow last year, where more female artists finally got the recognition they deserve. I have high hopes that this trend will continue to grow this year and allow artist - no matter the gender or culture - to gain recognition for their work.

Colourful Art

This category is also what you most likely think it is. Very vibrant and bold usage of colours is also excpected to become an uprising.

Since the pandemic a lot of people started to work from home and made themselves a home-office. Now what could you put in a office to make it look more friendly or lively? Exactly, a beautiful vibrant painting.

I myself also worked from home and found that it was depressing to sit in that room without some pop of colour to look at, so I put up a Artpiece I painted myself. Every time I was thinking, I subconsciously looked at the painting.

Now I don't want yout to feel the need to paint in any of these categories if you don't want to, Art is your passion and you should be free to choose what you want. But it might be worth it to try something new in case these categories really do become a hit this year. However that is just what I and a lot of other people think might become a trend due to it's present in the everyday life.

What do you think about it? You can tell me your thoughts in the comments below, I look foreward to reading your ideas and thoughts on this topic.
